Cheshunt Road

Two storeys of residential accommodation sit above an entrance lobby and car parking undercroft on a tight site in Bexley. The site is hemmed in on three sides by a car park, an alleyway and a bakery so squeezing the development in was a challenge both in terms of the spatial standards that need to be achieved and the way the building would be constructed.

Not being able to put windows on two sides of the building determined the internal layout with habitable rooms on one side of the building. Fortunately that facade faces south so living

rooms have access to a south facing balcony, while bedrooms also face south benefitting

from early morning to late evening sunlight .
