Fingal Street #3
The opportunity to remodel another house in this Victorian street in Greenwich gave us an insight into how much difference there can be in the layout of a terrace of houses.
While we have worked on several of these houses, the internal layout of the rear section of this house was quite different to other houses we have experience of in Fingal Street; however, this didn't stop us from remodelling it to provide a kitchen and dining space for our clients which connected with the garden. Existing sewer chambers on the site boundary meant that the original design had to be adjusted, but this enabled a split elevation with a full height window providing an alternative view of the garden and bringing natural light deep into the kitchen.
A unique rising staircase has enabled access to the storage area under the house, which otherwise would have been very difficult to access after the completion of the works.
