Nursery School South London

We originally worked on the refurbishment of a church hall over two storeys, which now provides extended teaching and play space for a nursery school in south London.

Accommodation includes an art room, offices, toilets for staff and children and a kitchen for preparation of meals. Challenges involved ensuring that the building is secure and that the structure does not lose heat or create condensation. Careful attention to detail ensured that the aims of the project were met on time and within the client's budget.

Subsequently, we were asked to think up some ideas for an extension to the building, which we envisaged as a series of coloured toy boxes placed on the outside of the building.  Rooflights avoid overlooking of neighbours and focus light and attention into the interior spaces.
