Fees
We usually charge fees as a lump sum based on the time we predict that we will spend in
carrying out the design services. On larger and more complex projects we may charge
a fee as a percentage of the construction value.
Where we are asked to carry out additional work or services not agreed at the outset of the
project, we usually agree an hourly timecharge fee. Such work might include additional
requests for input or where work needs to be repeated for some reason beyond our control.
We invoice for our work on the basis of a predetermined and agreed payment schedule,
usually at the end of each stage, although this might differ on large or complex projects.
We like to design the whole project, inside as well as outside but often clients have a specific
range of services in mind. Unless specifically requested at the start of a project, work for
which we charge separately may include:
Interior Design
Design of Furniture or Fixtures
Specialist Lighting
Landscape Design
Liaison with Public Utilities or other Specialist Suppliers
Expenses/Disbursements
We usually incur a number of expenses and disbursements in our work, which are included
in our fees. We usually issue drawings and other reports as electronic documents by
email, so printing is not usually necessary.
Other expenses that we may charge for include travel and parking costs, architectural
models, computer visualisations and printing. We will agree these and any other
costs before proceeding.
